Overview
- Taste of Chicago returns to Grant Park Sept. 5–7 as a free festival with more than 45 restaurants, family activities, and nightly headliners including Lupe Fiasco, JoJo and Elvis Crespo, running 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Printers Row Lit Fest marks its 40th year Sept. 6–7 as a free outdoor book fair at 620 S. Dearborn, hosting 100-plus booksellers, children’s storytelling and keynote speakers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Major concerts span the city, with Dua Lipa at United Center Sept. 5–6 and The Who on Sept. 7, plus LE SSERAFIM at Wintrust Arena, Charlie Wilson’s R&B lineup at Northerly Island and PUP with Jeff Rosenstock at the Salt Shed.
- Sports options include the Cubs hosting the Nationals, Northwestern facing Western Illinois, WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the Chicago Fire vs. New England Revolution and additional soccer and NWSL action.
- Participatory and family events feature the Run Mag Mile 5K/10K down Michigan Avenue on Sept. 6 and Brookfield Zoo’s First Responders Day on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with neighborhood festivals adding stages across the city.
