Overview
- Between 7 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday, eight separate shootings across Chicago left one person dead and nine others injured.
- A 32-year-old man was killed as he exited a store in Englewood’s 600 block of West 63rd Street.
- A 27-year-old South Loop motorist was shot after confronting four suspects breaking into his vehicle in the 2000 block of South Wabash Avenue.
- Other victims ranged from an 18-year-old pedestrian on the Near North Side to bystanders wounded in Englewood and on the Near West Side, with most hospitalized in good condition.
