Chicago Police Release Video, Seek Tips in West Side Crash-and-Grab Burglaries

Detectives posted surveillance video to spur tips to Area Four or CPDTIP.com.

  • Newly released footage shows a dark sedan reversing into a storefront before a white van arrives and at least seven people enter.
  • The linked break-ins occurred around 4:48 a.m. on Nov. 9 in the 4000 block of West Madison Street and around 4 a.m. on Nov. 10 in the 800 block of North Kedzie Avenue.
  • Offenders stole clothing and shoes after ramming through the entrance, then fled in a vehicle described by police as stolen.
  • Investigators say the crew consists of Black males approximately 15 to 19 years old, weighing 110 to 150 pounds, dressed in all black with black masks.
