Chicago Police Release Images of Suspect in South Loop Playground Assault

Using newly released surveillance footage, authorities are calling on residents to help locate a man accused of assaulting three children at Jones Park.

  • On June 11 at around 7:37 p.m., an unidentified man approached three girls playing at Jones Park in the South Loop and inappropriately touched two of them.
  • The suspect pursued the children briefly after they left the playground before fleeing north through the Plymouth Court tunnel.
  • He is described as a Black man aged 60 to 70 with a bald head, gray or white facial hair, missing teeth and at least one gold tooth, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt bearing a white skeleton decal and blue jeans.
  • Jones Park borders South Loop Elementary School, prompting authorities to warn neighbors to stay alert for any suspicious activity.
