Overview
- At least four people were injured in separate shootings across Chicago from Jan. 2 to 5, with victims ranging in age from 32 to 58, according to police.
- A 33-year-old man was critically wounded when a gunman in a stolen Kia opened fire near the 800 block of East 79th Street, and officers later recovered the vehicle and arrested a 17-year-old suspect who was also hospitalized in critical condition.
- Other incidents included a 46-year-old hit in the leg by gunfire that pierced a window on South Homan Avenue, a 32-year-old struck in the elbow on West 38th Street, and a 58-year-old found shot inside a residence on South Lowe Avenue.
- Police released video tied to a Dec. 19 homicide in Marshall Square in which a 23-year-old woman riding in a vehicle was shot in the head and later died at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
