Overview
- Two armed robberies were reported late Sunday and early Monday in and near the West Loop, according to Chicago police.
- At 9:55 p.m. on West Lake Street, six men arrived in two vehicles, displayed a pistol, punched a 22-year-old, took his property, and fled in a black sedan—possibly a Kia—and another vehicle.
- Around 1:35 a.m. near North Morgan Street, two men exited a silver or gray Jeep and attempted to rob a 27-year-old, who got inside his building before the offenders fled empty-handed.
- At about 2:40 a.m. on West Montana Street, a 39-year-old licensed concealed-carry holder fired at two men who approached him, striking one suspect multiple times in the legs.
- Officers followed a blood trail to a North Lockwood Avenue residence where a 23-year-old emerged and was hospitalized in good condition, a second suspect was arrested at the scene, and no charges have been announced as investigations continue.
