• CPD issued a community alert on Sept. 1 detailing eight similar robberies between Aug. 1 and Aug. 29 across Grant Park, the New Eastside and the Loop.
• In each case, offenders targeted lone pedestrians on park property and used physical force to rip away gold chains or necklaces, according to police.
• Several incidents occurred in daylight in busy areas, including multiple thefts on East Wacker Drive on the morning of Aug. 22.
• Suspects were described as one to four men and women approximately 20 to 40 years old, with at least one wearing a black T‑shirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
