Chicago Med Season 9 Premieres with New Cast Members and Fewer Episodes

The new season will introduce fresh dynamics as it navigates the departure of fan favorites and the impact of Hollywood strikes.

Chicago Med is entering its ninth season with several new cast members, including Luke Mitchell who will play Dr. Mitch Ripley, an emergency department doctor with a troubled past.
The new season will premiere on Wednesday 17th January 2024 at 8pm ET and 7pm Central Time in the US on NBC, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
Several fan favorites, including Dr Will Halstead, Dr Dylan Scott, Dr Ethan Choi, and April, will not be returning for the new season.
The season's episode number has been reduced to 13 due to the writers' and actors' strikes that affected Hollywood in 2023.
The plot of season 9 is under wraps, but it’s expected to pick up where season 8 left off, with more crossovers with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, more patients to be saved, and potential fallout following the departure of Dr Will Halstead.
