Chicago Marathon Set for Sunday With Finalized Start Times, Closures and Elite Fields

Overnight no‑parking enforcement begins along the 29‑neighborhood course at 1 a.m. Sunday.

  • Race-day schedule starts with wheelchair divisions at 7:20 a.m. CT, Wave 1 at 7:30 a.m., Wave 2 at 8:00 a.m., and Wave 3 at 8:35 a.m., with a 6 hour 30 minute course time limit.
  • The course closes to traffic from about 6 a.m. to midafternoon Sunday, with vehicle towing along posted no-parking zones beginning at 1 a.m., and some street closures having rolled out since Thursday.
  • Local coverage begins at 7 a.m. CT on NBC 5 Chicago and Telemundo Chicago with live streams on NBCChicago.com and TelemundoChicago.com, plus an exclusive finish-line camera from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
