  • The three-week spree began on February 27, 2021, when Anania claimed to have a gun, sexually assaulted a woman, and stole her car after she escaped at an intersection.
  • On March 8, 2021, Anania kidnapped an Uber driver in Darien, forcing her to drive to Chicago, where he assaulted her in alleys before fleeing.
  • Two days later, Anania and accomplice Walter Moran abducted a Cicero woman, later releasing her and stealing her car; Moran was sentenced in April 2025 to 15 years and eight months in prison.
