The Chicago Bulls have announced the inaugural class for their new Ring of Honor, which includes Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Phil Jackson, and the 1995-96 championship team.
The Ring of Honor is a celebration of the legends who have shaped the Bulls' organization over the past 57 years.
The Bulls will honor the inaugural class with a private gala at the United Center on Jan. 11 and a halftime presentation during a Jan. 12 game against Golden State.
The franchise plans to add to its Ring of Honor every two years, with the criteria for inclusion being at least three seasons with the team and retirement from basketball for at least three years.
The announcement has been met with mixed reactions, with some critics arguing that the Bulls are distracting fans from their current mediocrity by reliving their glory days.
