Chicago Blackhawks Promote Top Prospect Frank Nazar to NHL Roster

The 20-year-old forward, excelling in the AHL, is expected to bring offensive support to a struggling Blackhawks lineup.

Frank Nazar, the Blackhawks' 2022 first-round draft pick, has been called up from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs after an impressive start to the season.
Nazar currently leads all AHL rookies with 11 goals and 24 points in 21 games, ranking sixth overall in league scoring.
The promotion comes as Chicago looks to bolster its offense, which ranks 30th out of 32 NHL teams this season with just 71 goals scored.
Defenseman Alec Martinez has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to December 7 due to a neck injury sustained earlier this month.
Nazar, who scored on his first NHL shot during a brief stint last season, is expected to make his season debut on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils.
