Chicago Bears Sign DeAndre Carter to One-Year Deal

Veteran receiver and return specialist DeAndre Carter joins the Bears, aiming to strengthen their special teams unit.

Carter has 108 receptions for 1,259 yards and six touchdowns over six NFL seasons.
He has played for six different teams, including a brief stint with the Bears in 2020.
Carter averaged 9.7 yards per punt return for the Raiders last year and 11.7 yards in 2022 with the Chargers.
He is expected to compete for the punt returner position, with Dante Pettis and Tyler Scott also in the mix.
On kickoff returns, Carter will likely be behind Velus Jones Jr. entering training camp.
