Chhattisgarh’s Cybercrime Network Recovers Over Rs3 Crore Following ₹107 Crore in Fraud Losses

A network of police stations, a Raipur forensic lab, a round-the-clock helpline plus bank coordination now freezes suspicious transactions to support victims

  • Chhattisgarh recorded 1,301 cybercrime cases between January 2024 and June 2025, resulting in losses exceeding Rs107 crore for victims.
  • The 24x7 Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 has enabled police to freeze suspicious transactions through direct coordination with banks and payment gateways, contributing to recoveries of Rs3.36 crore.
  • State residents filed 67,389 online fraud complaints amounting to Rs791 crore on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal, of which 21,195 have been resolved with refunds to 1,820 victims.
  • Law enforcement infrastructure now includes one State Cyber Police Station, five range-level stations, district cyber cells and a modern cyber forensic lab at Raipur police headquarters.
  • Under the Home Ministry’s Cyber Commando Scheme, Chhattisgarh officers have been trained in dark-web and cryptocurrency investigations at C-DAC and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.
