Chhattisgarh Security Forces Kill 5 Maoists in Bijapur Following Days of Violence

Several Maoists were killed and arms recovered during intense operations in Bijapur, where IED blasts injured security personnel earlier this week.

Five Maoists, including two women, were killed in an extended encounter with security forces in Bijapur's National Park area on Sunday.
The operation followed intelligence reports of Maoist activity in the dense forested region and involved multiple security units, including the District Reserve Guard and Central Reserve Police Force.
Weapons and explosives, including rifles and a grenade launcher, were recovered from the encounter site.
Two police personnel were injured in an IED blast in Bijapur during an area domination exercise earlier in the week; both are now in stable condition.
The region has seen consecutive days of violence, with search operations continuing to locate any remaining Maoists.
