Overview

• Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari approved more than Rs 7,000 crore in highway projects plus Rs 600 crore from the Central Road Fund, clearing the way for four new bridges in Raipur and four-lane expansions on key district routes.
• In a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Sai reported the neutralisation of 445 Maoists, the arrest of 1,554 and the surrender of 1,588 as part of integrated anti-Naxal operations since December 2023.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted Sai’s invitation to preside over the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav on November 1 and discussed plans to transform the Maoist-affected Bastar region into an industrial and tourism hub.
• Sai presented the Anjor Vision 2047 blueprint to the Prime Minister’s Office, outlining an environmentally sustainable, integrated transport network and inclusive growth strategy for Chhattisgarh.
• Proposals for new 220-bed medical and nursing colleges in Raipur and Bilaspur have been submitted to the central government and await approval to expand healthcare education and services.
