  • Ten Maoists were killed in Gariaband on Thursday, including Central Committee member Modem Balakrishna (alias Manoj), who carried a ₹1 crore bounty.
  • Police said the Gariaband dead collectively carried about ₹5.22–₹5.25 crore in rewards across multiple states, with four women among those recovered.
  • The joint operation in forested terrain under Mainpur police station involved STF, E-30, CoBRA and state units, with seizures including an AK-47, an SLR and other firearms.
  • Intermittent firing and combing continued into Friday, while a separate Bijapur operation left two Maoists dead with a .303 rifle, explosives and other materials recovered.
