Chhattisgarh Deploys Eight IPS Officers to Bolster Anti-Naxal Operations

It follows a Maoist-planted IED explosion in Sukma that killed ASP Akash Rao Girepunje.

  • The State Home Department issued transfer orders on June 10 for eight IPS officers from the 2021 batch to strengthen anti-Naxal duties across Bastar region districts.
  • Surguja CSP Rohit Kumar Shah has been appointed Additional Superintendent of Police for anti-Naxal operations in Sukma district.
  • Udit Pushkar will lead operations in Dantewada district, while Ravindra Kumar Meena and Aman Kumar Raman Kumar Jha have been posted to Bijapur district.
  • Akash Shrishrimal moves to Bhanupratappur in Kanker, Ajay Kumar and Akshay Pramod Sabadra to Narayanpur, and Akash Kumar Shukla to the Special Task Force in Durg’s Baghera division.
  • The redeployments follow the June 9 IED blast at a stone quarry near Dondra village in Sukma, which killed ASP Girepunje and injured two other police officers.
