Chhattisgarh Cabinet Approves Capital Region Authority Bill and Inclusive Development Agenda

All approved measures will be tabled in the upcoming monsoon session to initiate systematic urban planning, youth innovation, legal modernization.

Overview

  • The cabinet sanctioned a draft bill to establish the Chhattisgarh Capital Region Development Authority on the lines of the NCR for coordinated growth across Raipur, Durg-Bhilai and Naya Raipur Atal Nagar.
  • A non-profit joint venture with the Pan IIT Alumni Reach For India Foundation will deploy unspent Tribal and Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan funds for vocational training, rural entrepreneurship and foreign language education for tribal groups, women, poor youth and third-gender individuals.

  • Draft amendments to the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, Private University Act, Agricultural Produce Market Act and Land Revenue Code were approved to enhance road safety, improve market regulation, raise education standards and streamline land management.
  • The creation of 30 senior-grade posts and elevation of officers from the 2005–2009 State Police Service batches underscores a push to strengthen administrative efficiency and law enforcement leadership.
