Overview
- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai gave in-principle approval to grant a No Objection Certificate after meeting Telangana Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy in Raipur on September 22.
- Telangana submitted a memorandum committing to bear land acquisition, compensation and rehabilitation expenses for areas affected across the border.
- Backwaters are expected to extend into Bhopalpatnam tahsil of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, impacting about 13.06 hectares of land, 54.03 hectares of river area and 6.35 hectares of nala land.
