Overview
- Video posted by Chet Hanks shows him approach Eric André from behind at ComplexCon, grab his shoulder and engage in a heated exchange that ended with security escorting André away.
- Hanks captioned the footage accusing André of having “no memory” of publicly criticizing him after their 2023 taping and saying André complained about Hanks’ past Jamaican-style accent.
- Witnesses and outlets report André initially responded calmly before appearing confused, then walking off with guards and reportedly shouting a comment that referenced Tom Hanks as he left.
- The clash directly connects to André’s 2023 Rolling Stone claim that Hanks behaved dangerously on set and “broke” the crew, a disagreement that never produced a reconciliation.
- Coverage is driven by Hanks’ posted video and social media comments while André’s representative has not provided an on-the-record response, renewing public scrutiny of Hanks’ past controversies and both men’s reputations.
