Cher's Son and Daughter-in-Law Oppose Singer's Bid for Conservatorship

Elijah Blue Allman and wife Marieangela King claim Allman is sober and managing his finances, while alleging Cher is unfit to serve as conservator.

  • Elijah Blue Allman, son of Cher, and his wife Marieangela King, have filed new court documents opposing Cher's bid for a conservatorship over Allman's estate. They claim that Allman is now sober, managing his finances, and responsibly handling the quarterly payments he receives from a trust set up by his late father, Gregg Allman.
  • King alleges that Cher is 'categorically unfit' to serve as conservator, accusing her of being 'manic depressive' and incapable of managing her own affairs. She also claims that Cher orchestrated a kidnapping of Allman and had him held at a Mexican rehab facility against his will for two months.
  • Allman asserts that he has been living a sober life, reconciling with his wife, and managing his finances. He also states that he has voluntarily undergone drug testing three times in January, all of which returned negative results.
  • Cher initially filed for a conservatorship over Allman in December 2023, citing concerns about his alleged substance abuse and mental health issues. She claimed that any funds distributed to Allman from his trust would be immediately spent on drugs, putting his life at risk.
  • A court hearing to determine whether Cher will be appointed conservator is scheduled for March 6, 2024.
