Chennai Court Orders Interim Support as Ravi Mohan Rules Out Reunion

A family-court order makes Mohan responsible for large school fees and monthly sums while the couple’s financial and visitation dispute continues in public.

Overview

  • The Chennai Family Welfare Court issued interim directions that require Ravi Mohan to pay ₹3 lakh a month to Aarti and ₹1 lakh a month to each son, and to cover the children’s school fees.
  • A number of reports say the court ordered Mohan to bear about ₹86 lakh a year in American school fees for the two children.
  • On Monday Aarti’s mother, Sujatha Vijayakumar, held a press conference saying the widely reported ₹40 lakh figure was an aggregation of debts and children’s costs and not a personal maintenance demand for Aarti.
  • Ravi Mohan responded on Instagram with a note saying the four of them will never be in the same room while he is alive and has signalled he will not reconcile.
  • The court also directed there be no restriction on the children meeting their father after earlier concerns that visits planned with a spiritual healer made the children uncomfortable.
