Chennai Couple Arrested for Alleged Torture and Murder of Teenage Maid

The 15-year-old victim was found with severe burn marks, and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

The victim, a minor from Thanjavur district, was employed as a domestic help by the accused couple, Mohammad Nishad and Nasiya.
Her body was discovered in the couple's bathroom in Chennai's Metha Nagar area, with visible signs of torture, including burns from a hot iron and cigarette butts.
The couple reportedly fled the scene and informed the police through their lawyer, leading to their arrest.
Authorities are awaiting the postmortem report from Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital to confirm the cause of death and investigate potential charges under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
Police are also searching for an accomplice named Lokesh, who is allegedly involved in the incident.
