Overview
- The Airports Authority of India pre-emptively revised about 30 services for the 4:00–8:00 a.m. window and informed travelers via text messages.
- Cancellations included four departures—Pune (3:05 a.m.), Coimbatore (6:35 a.m.), Mumbai (7:15 a.m.), Delhi (8:00 a.m.)—and four arrivals—Delhi (5:20 a.m.), Mumbai (6:35 a.m.), Pune (7:10 a.m.), Coimbatore (9:10 a.m.).
- Ten flights were delayed by one to three hours, with examples including Chennai–Vijayawada and Chennai–Thoothukudi departures and late arrivals from Singapore, Muscat and Kuala Lumpur.
- By around 7:00 a.m., no significant smoke haze was observed at the airport and passenger inconvenience was limited due to advance notifications.
- Bhogi bonfires in neighborhoods around the airfield produce seasonal smoke that can reduce runway visibility, a recurring issue that affected 118 services in 2018 and 51 in 2024.
