Chemnitz Police Halt Attack on Bar Patrons, State Security Investigates

Seven suspects linked to the far-right spectrum were detained after an attempted assault on bar guests but later released as investigations continue.

A group of around 20 individuals attempted to assault patrons outside a bar in Chemnitz on Friday night.
Police officers nearby intervened, using lights and sirens to disperse the attackers, preventing further harm.
Seven suspects, aged 15 to 20, were apprehended shortly after the incident and identified as being connected to the far-right spectrum.
One victim, a 25-year-old, sustained minor injuries and received treatment on-site.
The State Security division of the criminal police is investigating the case as a particularly severe breach of public order.
