Chelsea FC Signs Mayra Ramirez in Record-Breaking Women's Football Transfer

Chelsea FC has signed Colombian forward Mayra Ramirez from Levante in a world-record transfer for women's football, with the deal worth €450,000 (£383,000) plus potential add-ons of €50,000 (£42,000).
Ramirez, who has 30 senior international caps for Colombia, is expected to fill the void left by an injured Sam Kerr and boost Chelsea's squad in Emma Hayes's final season before she leaves to manage the United States.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea and is expected to bring a versatile option to Chelsea's attacking threats as she can play off both flanks and through the middle as a striker.
Chelsea's general manager Paul Green described Ramirez as a dynamic forward with great physicality, athleticism, and a good goal scoring record, whose style is expected to suit playing in England.
Chelsea are still in all four competitions in what will be Emma Hayes' last season in charge of the team before joining the United States women's national team.
