Charlie Hunnam Recalls Almost Landing Anakin Skywalker Role in 'Star Wars'

Hayden Christensen, who ultimately played Anakin, expresses interest in reprising the role in future 'Star Wars' projects.

Charlie Hunnam, known for his role in 'Sons of Anarchy', revealed he was close to being cast as Anakin Skywalker in 'Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones', even meeting with George Lucas.
Hunnam recalls feeling nervous and awkward during the meeting, and left feeling certain he wouldn't get the role, which ultimately went to Hayden Christensen.
Christensen reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader, in the third film of the prequel trilogy, 'Revenge Of The Sith', and recently in Disney+ shows 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' and 'Ahsoka'.
Christensen expressed interest in continuing to play Anakin in future 'Star Wars' projects, if given the opportunity.
Hunnam is currently promoting his role in Zack Snyder’s space opera 'Rebel Moon', set to be released on Netflix on December 21.
