Charlie Hunnam Declines Offer to Play Green Arrow in DC Universe

Despite Fan Support, 'Sons of Anarchy' Star Turns Down Role Due to Lack of Familiarity with Character and Dislike of Costume

Charlie Hunnam, known for his roles in 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'Rebel Moon', was offered the role of Green Arrow in the DC Universe but declined.
Hunnam stated that he was not familiar with the character and did not think the green costume and spandex material suited him.
It is unclear whether Hunnam was approached for the role during Zack Snyder's era with the franchise or more recently for the James Gunn initiative.
Fans have been campaigning for Stephen Amell, who played Green Arrow in The CW superhero series 'Arrow', to be given the role in the new DC Universe.
Hunnam is currently working with Zack Snyder on the Netflix film 'Rebel Moon'.
