Overview

  • Williams notified the Chargers on July 17 via agent Tory Dandy that he is retiring from the NFL after eight seasons.
  • He had rejoined Los Angeles on a one-year, $6 million deal in March but was placed on the physically unable to perform list ahead of camp with an undisclosed injury.
  • Over his career with the Chargers, Jets and Steelers, he totaled 330 receptions for 5,104 yards and 32 touchdowns, including two 1,000-yard campaigns.
  • A torn ACL in Week 3 of 2023 and other injury setbacks limited him to three games that season and contributed to just 21 catches for 298 yards in 2024.
  • Los Angeles will now lean on Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey, Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith to fill the void at wide receiver.
