Chargers Interview Internal Candidates for Head Coach Position

The team is also seeking a new general manager, with several potential candidates identified.

Giff Smith and Kellen Moore, internal candidates, have been interviewed for the head coaching position at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Smith served as interim coach for the final three games of the season, losing all three, after the firing of Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco.
Moore, who was the offensive coordinator, had previously been an assistant coach with the Dallas Cowboys for five seasons.
The Chargers have also requested interviews with six assistant coaches from other teams, all coordinators, three of whom have previous NFL head coaching experience.
The Chargers are also searching for a new general manager, having requested interviews with Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown, Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray and Jeff Ireland, Saints vice president and assistant general manager for college personnel.
