Overview
- UEFA held the play-off draw at its Nyon headquarters on August 4, revealing seven two-legged ties for final qualification
- The qualification round is divided into a Champions Path of five ties featuring 10 teams and a League Path of two ties featuring four teams
- Direct entrants Celtic, Sturm Graz, Bodø/Glimt and FC Basel were joined in the draw by both sides from each third qualifying round tie
- Each play-off tie is set for two legs on August 19–20 and August 26–27 with all matches kicking off at 9 pm CET
- Losers of each fixture will fall into the Europa League league phase while winners advance to the new 36-team Champions League stage
