Overview

  • The draw takes place in Monaco on Thursday, 28 August at 6pm BST, with free streams available on UEFA and TNT Sports platforms and YouTube.
  • UEFA’s league phase features 36 teams playing eight matches each, with the top eight advancing directly to the last 16 and places 9–24 entering February play-offs as the bottom 10 are eliminated.
  • Opponents are generated from four coefficient-based pots, with two teams drawn from each pot for every club, one home and one away.
  • Clubs cannot face teams from their own country in the league phase and are restricted from playing more than two opponents from any single nation.
  • Pot 1 contains PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, with the six English clubs spread as follows: Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea in Pot 1, Arsenal in Pot 2, Tottenham in Pot 3 and Newcastle in Pot 4.
