- Chad McCrary, a celebrated bodybuilder who continued to compete after a spinal injury, has died at the age of 49.
- McCrary began competing in 2000 and despite being paralyzed in a 2005 motocross accident, he continued to compete in Wheelchair Bodybuilding tournaments.
- In 2022, McCrary secured a top-10 finish at the prestigious Mr Olympia bodybuilding competition and won first place at the Heart of Texas Heavyweight competition.
- McCrary also worked as a motivational speaker and was a licensed aviator through Texarkana College. He had a stint as a paramedic for LifeNet and the Red River Army Depot.
