Overview
- Chainlink launched CCIP Vault Adapters on Thursday, Oct. 8, letting users deposit into supported vaults from more than 80 blockchains with a single click while vault strategy and accounting stay on one chain.
- The company named adopters including Aave, Lombard, Maple, United Stables, Veda and Venus as early users of the Vault Adapters.
- CCIP 2.0, released Sept. 28, lets institutions add their own verifiers on top of Chainlink’s 16 operator network and Chainlink has only named Lombard so far as a verifier adopter.
- Market reaction was muted to negative with LINK down about 3% to roughly $12.97 on Oct. 8 testing $12.80 support, whale transactions hitting a 2026 high of 681 moves of $100,000 or more, and Chainlink ETFs reporting zero net flows on Oct. 7.
- The upgrades aim to cut cross-chain fragmentation and boost usable liquidity but also shift extra transaction checks to optional verifiers, a design change that draws scrutiny given past bridge exploits and broader market stress affecting short-term demand.
