Chaco Jury Convicts César Sena and Parents in Cecilia Strzyzowski Femicide

The court will now hold a penalty hearing to determine punishment.

Overview

  • César Sena was found guilty as the author of doubly aggravated homicide (femicide) for the killing of Cecilia Strzyzowski, and his parents, Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acuña, were convicted as primary participants.
  • Gustavo Obregón and Fabiana González were convicted of aggravated concealment and Gustavo Melgarejo of simple concealment, while Griselda Reinoso was acquitted and released.
  • The 12-member popular jury deliberated for more than 24 hours and reached unanimous verdicts, as required by law.
  • A sentencing, or cesura, hearing will be scheduled in the coming days, with life imprisonment expected for the three main defendants based on the legal classifications; a defense attorney for Emerenciano Sena said he will appeal.
  • Presiding judge Dolly Fernández said the outcome reflects social exhaustion with protected power networks, and national officials, including Javier Milei and Patricia Bullrich, publicly celebrated the verdict.
