- CFE director Emilia Calleja Alor met with Governor Mauricio Kuri on July 14 to set up a Mesa Permanente de Atención al Servicio Eléctrico and agree to ongoing, direct communication between the federal utility, state government and municipalities.
- The CFE announced three 2026 programs that include 65 projects with a combined investment of 195 million pesos and about 30 MVA of added distribution capacity to strengthen local supply.
- Those 2026 actions build on a 2025 effort in which the CFE completed 131 distribution projects in Querétaro with 475 million pesos of investment that added roughly 160 MVA of capacity.
- Officials said they will reinforce preventive work such as inspections, infrastructure maintenance and vegetation trimming and will deploy monitoring, automation, operational simulation and AI tools to identify risks and schedule safer repairs.
- CFE and state sources framed the package as part of a larger sexenio plan of roughly 8.8–9.0 billion pesos to modernize the grid, assign a regional director for Querétaro and reduce the frequent outages that have affected homes, businesses and rural municipalities.
