Overview
- The first mayoral debate is set for Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. co-hosted by WNBC, Telemundo 47 and Politico, with a "leading contenders" debate on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. hosted by NY1 with WNYC/Gothamist and THE CITY.
- To qualify for the first mayoral debate, candidates must be on the ballot and have raised and spent at least $198,300.
- For the final mayoral debate, candidates qualify as leading contenders by surpassing $2.4 million in spending, securing at least 1,000 qualifying contributions, or polling at 5% or higher in approved surveys.
- Candidates who opted into the city’s public matching funds program and meet the criteria are required to participate in the official debates.
- Public advocate debates are slated for Oct. 9 and Oct. 21, and comptroller debates for Oct. 14 and Oct. 23, with broadcasts led by NY1 and PIX11 alongside partner outlets.
