CEO Poll Points to Catalan Shake-Up as Aliança Catalana Surges and Junts Slumps

Anxiety over immigration is propelling Sílvia Orriols’ party into contention.

Overview

  • The Generalitat’s CEO survey published this week keeps the PSC first by roughly ten points, with Salvador Illa the clear preferred president.
  • Junts would fall from 35 to 20 seats and from 21.6% to 13.8% of the vote, slipping to third place in projected representation.
  • Aliança Catalana would climb to 12.4% and about 20 seats, drawing roughly a fifth of Junts’ 2024 voters and surpassing Junts in direct, uncooked vote intention.
  • Support for Catalan independence is measured at around 39%, down from 53% in earlier readings.
  • CEO data tie Orriols’ rise to anti-immigration sentiment as 60% say there are too many immigrants even as 60% see economic contribution, with Aliança’s voters self-placing near the center and a combined Aliança–Vox share estimated near 22% and up to 34 seats.
