Overview

  • AP’s agriculture minister said 10,800 mt is allotted from Dhamra and 8,100 mt at Karaikal is earmarked for the state, with a further 15,000 mt due at Gangavaram by September 6 and 30,000 mt at Kakinada in the second week of September.
  • In Telangana, district deliveries are far below need, with Suryapet receiving 2,300 mt against an August demand of 22,000 mt and Nalgonda getting 45,500 mt against a requirement of 70,000 mt by September, leading to rationing and long queues.
  • BRS workers held rallies and dharnas in Kothagudem over scarce supply and alleged black‑market sales, submitting a memorandum to the district collector and calling for a monitoring committee and enforcement action.
  • YSRCP urged the AP government to secure more central allocations and alleged private dealers are coercing farmers to buy nano urea and pesticides to access regular urea, creating what it called artificial scarcity.
  • Telangana’s agriculture minister blamed delayed imports and RFCL’s production shutdown for a statewide shortfall and said the Union recently promised 50,000 tonnes, with 35,000 tonnes reported as having arrived.
