Centre Sanctions ₹803.39 Crore Under CRIF for Upgrades on 152 Delhi Road Stretches

Projects move forward after Delhi issues required approvals within four months.

Overview

  • A total of 152 stretches covering roughly 330 kilometres across Central, North, East, Northeast, Shahdara, Northwest and West Delhi are included in the package.
  • The works span resurfacing, strengthening, widening and new corridors along with upgrades to existing flyovers to improve connectivity and ease congestion.
  • Key corridors named by officials include Ring Road, the AIIMS–Ashram section, ITO Loop and Ferozeshah Road, Vikas Marg, Kashmiri Gate ISBT–Wazirabad, Noida Link Road and parts of the Outer Ring Road.
  • Three new flyovers are planned at Rohtak Road (Military Road–Jhansi Road), Rajouri GardenTagore Garden and Road 63–Gokulpuri to decongest busy routes.
  • MoRTH’s letter asks Delhi to accord administrative approval and secure technical and financial sanctions within four months, after which pending works will be deemed sanctioned unless an extension is approved.
