Centre sanctions 10.3 lakh more rural homes for Maharashtra under PMAY-G

This latest approval aims to cover all remaining beneficiaries identified in the 2018 Awaas Plus survey.

Overview

  • On June 3, the central government approved 10,29,957 new houses for Maharashtra under PMAY-G for the 2025-26 financial year.
  • The state’s total sanctioned rural homes under the scheme has reached 44,70,829 since its launch in April 2016.
  • The Union Cabinet extended PMAY-G in August 2024 through March 2029 with a goal of constructing two crore additional rural houses nationwide.
  • Maharashtra will provide a ₹50,000 supplementary grant per house and a ₹1 lakh land purchase grant for landless families.
  • Each dwelling will be equipped with solar panels as part of an ₹80,000 crore investment in rural Maharashtra.
