Overview

• Union Fisheries Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh announced steps in Kochi to secure internationally recognized certification and traceability for Lakshadweep’s pole-and-line and handline tuna fisheries.
• Legal instruments to enable sustainable operations in India’s EEZ and on the high seas are being drafted in consultation with coastal states and Union Territories.
