Centre Greenlights ₹417 Crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Uttar Pradesh

Developed by YEIDA near Jewar Airport, it is designed to tap multimodal links to boost local electronics output under the Make in India drive.

Overview

  • The project received approval on June 25 and will cover roughly 206 acres in Gautam Buddha Nagar, with ₹144 crore in central aid and remaining funding from YEIDA.
  • Plug-and-play infrastructure and shared facilities will serve consumer electronics, automotive and industrial electronics, medical devices, computer hardware and communication equipment firms.
  • Havells has committed ₹800 crore as an anchor investor, while total investment is expected to reach around ₹2,500 crore and generate about 15,000 jobs.
  • Construction is slated for completion by January 2028, building on EMC1.0’s track record of attracting ₹30,000 crore in investments and creating over 86,000 jobs nationwide.
  • Located along the Yamuna and Eastern Peripheral expressways and adjacent to Jewar International Airport, the cluster leverages Uttar Pradesh’s existing role as a key hub for electronics manufacturing.
