Overview
- Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the 21st PM-KISAN instalment prioritised for the three flood-hit states.
- Punjab received Rs 221.98 crore for 11,09,895 farmers, Himachal Pradesh got Rs 160.21 crore for 8,01,045 farmers, and Uttarakhand received Rs 157.83 crore for 7,89,128 farmers.
- Around 2.7 lakh women farmers were among the beneficiaries of this targeted transfer.
- Officials said the payout is intended to meet immediate household needs and help procure seeds and fertilisers for the next sowing cycle.
- With this tranche, cumulative PM-KISAN disbursements to the three states since 2019 have crossed Rs 13,626 crore, complementing earlier central relief packages announced by the Prime Minister.
