Overview
- The Finance Ministry confirmed that the additional instalment of Rs 81,735 crore will be released to state governments on June 2, 2025.
- This tranche comes in addition to the regular monthly devolution instalment of Rs 81,735 crore scheduled for June 10.
- The extra funds are intended to speed up state capital expenditure and support development and welfare-related projects.
- States currently receive 41 per cent of centrally collected taxes in instalments over the fiscal year.
- India achieved 6.5 per cent real GDP growth in FY2024-25 with a 7.4 per cent expansion in the fourth quarter, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.
