Overview
- The Centre approved a Rs 1,647 crore SASCI allocation for 28 Delhi infrastructure projects that cover Delhi Metro works, the Barapulla elevated corridor, the Karawal Nagar flyover and EV charging stations at DTC depots.
- Delhi also received an additional Rs 756 crore as a performance‑linked incentive in recognition of higher own‑resource capital expenditure.
- All 28 projects were cleared by the Centre on July 9, 2026, a decision that Delhi’s chief minister publicly announced on July 12.
- The Delhi Finance Department has been tasked to coordinate with the Transport Department, PWD and executing agencies such as DMRC and DTC to start and fast‑track project delivery.
- The funding comes through SASCI, which offers 50‑year, interest‑free capex loans and incentives; the 2026–27 Union Budget set a Rs 2 lakh crore SASCI envelope and this allocation is roughly three times Delhi’s SASCI support from last year.
