Centre Appoints Ravi Ranjan as SBI Managing Director, Effective Today

The Finance Ministry’s Department of Financial Services formally notified the move under the State Bank of India Act.

  • Ravi Ranjan assumed charge as SBI managing director on December 15 with a term running to September 30, 2028 or until further orders.
  • He has been assigned oversight of the bank’s Risk, Compliance and Stressed Assets Resolution Group portfolios, according to the exchange filing.
  • The appointment was notified by the Department of Financial Services in line with provisions of the State Bank of India Act, 1955.
  • The filing states he is not debarred by any SEBI order or other authority and is not disqualified from serving as a director.
