Centre Advances Rs 1,950.80 Crore SDRF to Karnataka, Maharashtra for Flood Relief

The step reflects a continuing nationwide disaster response backed by earlier fund releases plus extensive NDRF, Army, Air Force support.

  • The allocation is split as Rs 384.40 crore for Karnataka and Rs 1,566.40 crore for Maharashtra to fund immediate help for those hit by this year's southwest monsoon floods.
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved the advance as the second instalment of the central share of the SDRF for 2025–26.
  • The Home Ministry described the payment as immediate relief to address damage from extremely heavy rainfall, floods, landslides and cloudbursts.
  • Operational assistance has included up to 199 NDRF teams deployed across 30 states and union territories, with additional support from the Army and the Air Force.
  • Earlier in 2025, the Centre released Rs 13,603.20 crore under SDRF, Rs 2,189.28 crore from NDRF, Rs 4,571.30 crore from SDMF and Rs 372.09 crore from NDMF to multiple states.
