Central Zone Near Duleep Final With 118-Run Lead as South Keep North Under Pressure

The first-innings lead rule now leaves Central needing only to protect their advantage on the final day of the semifinals.

Overview

  • Central Zone closed Day 3 at 556/8 to lead West Zone by 118 after a pivotal 134-run sixth-wicket stand between Harsh Dubey (75) and Upendra Yadav (87).
  • Shubham Sharma was run out for 96 and captain Rajat Patidar made 77, while left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja led West’s attack with 4/101.
  • Saransh Jain was 37 not out with support from Deepak Chahar’s late 33, leaving West needing an unlikely turnaround with the draw favoring Central by rule.
  • In the other semifinal, South Zone’s 536 set the platform as North Zone reached 278/5 at stumps, trailing by 258, with opener Shubham Khajuria unbeaten on 128.
  • Khajuria and Nishant Sindhu (82 and 5-125 earlier) added 171 for the fourth wicket after early strikes from Gurjapneet Singh (3/67) and MD Nidheesh, before a late run-out checked North’s progress.
